Innis Chonnell

Innischonnell (Scottish Gaelic: Innis Chonaill) is an island in Loch Awe, Scotland.

It is part of Kilchrenan and Dalavich parish, in Argyll.

History

Ardchonnel castle dates from the 11th century, and belonged to the ancestors of the Duke of Argyll. It is now a ruin covered in either. It was from here that the saying "It's a far cry to Lochow" came from, since they often launched attacks from this island.
