"Guess Who" is a 2005 comedy film, directed by Kevin Rodney Sullivan. It is a loose remake of the 1967 film "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner". The films stars Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac. It was remade into Tamil as "Kannamoochi Yenada" in 2007.

The majority of the movie was filmed in Cranford, New Jersey.

Plot summary

When Theresa (Zoe Saldana) brings her new fiancee Simon (Ashton Kutcher) home, everyone is surprised to see that he's white. Her father Percy (Bernie Mac) immediately dislikes him and tries to find something that's wrong with him. This is when the troubles begin. Sooner or later, Percy will have to realize that Simon is white and has to like and accept him for who he is.

Trivia

* The scene with a black taxi driver being mistaken for the fiance was also used in the 90s TV show "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air".
* In some Spanish-speaking countries, the film was entitled "Conquistando a mi Suegro" ("Conquering My father-in-law"). In Spain 'Adivina quien'.(Guess who)
* Kevin Rodney Sullivan said that he signed on to the movie because he has a daughter who he thought might someday start dating a Samoan rock-drummer type, and doing this project would enable him to work out his issues before that day came.
* Ashton Kutcher suggested during pre-production that Simon Green should be Jewish, to add another level to his conflict with Percy Jones (who is Christian), but director Sullivan nixed that idea because he wanted to focus on the interracial-dating issue and not bring an interfaith element in it.
* Both Mac and Kutcher starred in successful sitcoms on the Fox network: Mac was on "The Bernie Mac Show", Kutcher was on "That 70s Show".

* In beginning of the movie, the cab makes a left turn on its way to Theresa's house. This shot takes place at the intersection of North Ave. and Walnut Ave. in Cranford, NJ, an intersection where left turns are illegal.
*The scene where Ashton Kutcher and Zoe Saldaña are talking about her first kiss is also featured in the Tom Hanks/Dan Aykroyd buddy comedy "Dragnet".
