HMS Stag (1899)

HMS Stag (1899)

HMS "Stag" was a Royal Navy destroyer built by John I. Thornycroft & Company and launched in 1899. She was constructed, like other Thornycroft destroyers of the period, of a new high tensile steel to save weight and was an improvement on the Ardent class design. She was armed with the standard single twelve pounder and two torpedo tubes of the time and carried a complement of 63 officers and men. She served in the Mediterranean for a time before returning to home waters. She survived the Great War to be sold in 1921.
