Turbojet train

Turbojet train is a train powered by turbojet engine. The first turbojet train ER22 was built in the USSR in had mass of 54.4 metric tons (including 7.4 tons of fuel) and length of convert|28|m. The engine was planned to be used as a part of "Russian troika" express.

Another attempt to use turbojet engines on railroad was made by General Electric in 1966. Their railcar M-497 Black Beetle was able to reach speeds up to convert|296|km/h.
