Baron Beresford

Baron Beresford

The peerage title Baron Beresford has been created twice in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. For the 1814 creation see Viscount Beresford.

The second creation came in 1916 when Admiral Lord Charles Beresford, one of the most prominent naval officers of his generation, was made Baron Beresford, of Metemmeh and of Curraghmore in the County of Waterford. Lord Charles Beresford was the second son of John de La Poer Beresford, 4th Marquess of Waterford. On his death three years later, that title became extinct.
