"Burn" is a song by punk rock band Alkaline Trio, released as a single on February 19, 2006. It is the third and final single from their 2005 album "Crimson". It is the first time in 5 studio albums that a third single has been released. In an interview with BBC Radio 1's The Lock Up on May 10th, 2005 before "Crimson" was released it was announced that Burn was to be the 2nd single from the album. In turned out that Mercy Me would be the 2nd single, no reason was ever given for the change of mind. The piano in the track was played by Roger Joseph Manning Jr. who also played the piano in previous single Time to Waste. Musically the track differs greatly from previous works. The use of a "ping-pong" style delay effect on the guitar and use of an industrial sounding drum beat for the verses took to far away from the darkened punk rock the band are known for.
