Kym Mazelle

Kym Mazelle (born Kimberley Grigsby in 1960, in Gary, Indiana, U.S.A) is an American Dance-pop, Hi-NRG, soul music, and House music singer. She was brought up and lived on the same street as the Jackson family and knew Michael Jackson's mother and uncle.

Career

Early in her career, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, she enjoyed major success in the European music scene, and performed as a member of Soul II Soul. Her second album, "Brilliant!" was released Stateside on the major label, Capitol Records. The album became a modest success. However she is probably best known as the singer of the cover version of the song "Young Hearts Run Free", in the 1996 Baz Luhrmann film, "William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet". She also appears on two live albums of funk saxman Maceo Parker, "Live on Planet Groove" and "My First Name is Maceo".

In 2005, she participated in the British version of the Reality TV show, "Celebrity Fit Club". She lost 1 stone and 10 pounds during the course of the programme, and prompted both amazement and amusement among viewers with her exceptionally large bustline, as well as tearing her calf muscle whilst performing a sudden movement during an exercise routine. After it healed she ripped it again, whilst trying to get out of the way of a moving car.

In 2005, she released her album, "The Pleasure Is All Mine" and a single "Love Magic". She also began a tour in Britain, in places such as Butlins holiday resorts.
