Hingalol or Hingalool (also known as Xingalool,) is a district in the Sanaag region in northern Somalia that is disputed between the secessionist, independent governing zone of Somaliland in the northwestern part of the Somali Republic and the autonomous region of Puntland in the northeast. In July 2007 the district became part of the newly autonomous Maakhir region.

The city has grown since the civil war in Somalia and there is a hospital (with another in the works), and 2 secondary schools. Hingalol consists of 2 main neighbourhoods, Wardheer and Jiingada.

Hingalol is a major growing town and one of the districts of the Sanaag region. It is famous for its religious pundits who are said to descend on the city for its spiritual devotion and religious learning. They come from all over Somalia.

Hingalol has declared Shariah law as the system by which its court shall govern its own daily affairs and improve its own security.
