On 25th of May 2008 Ehsan Hajsafi played his first A national team match for Iran when he played from start in the friendly game against Zambia. Hajsafi shined in his debut with two brilliant assists in Iran's 3-2 win at home.
On 2nd of June 2008 Ehsan Hajsafi played from start in Iran's World Cup qualifier against UAE at home. In the return game Hajsafi came on as a substitute to help Iran win the crucial away game.
Hajysafi competed for Iran at the
AFC Youth Championship 2006 .His 1st international goal was against Qatar in the
2008 West Asian Football Federation Championship , when Iran went on to win 6-1.International goals
