Begleitkommando-SS was a special Schutzstaffel unit created to guard German government and Nazi Party buildings. The main protectors of Hitler were the SS-Begleitkommando des Führers. This unit was comprised of the top eight members of the Begleitkommando-SS. The Begleitkommando-SS cooperated with other units and organizations to protect people and buildings. During peace time, it mainly worked with the police forces, like the Gestapo.
