Thomas N. (Tom) Kelly Jr

Tom Kelly serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) for Nextel.

As COO, Kelly is responsible for the effective execution of Nextel's business plan and for all aspects of daily operations. Prior to being promoted to COO in February 2003, Mr. Kelly served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer since he began his career with Nextel in 1996. Before joining Nextel, Mr. Kelly was the vice president of marketing for AT&T Wireless. He brings years of experience as vice president of business development for Howard, Bedford, and Nolan, a consulting practice focused on providing marketing and new product consulting to Fortune 500 companies.

Kelly serves on the board of Radioframe Networks Inc., Bellevue, Washington, and volunteers for several school and youth athletic organizations in Northern Virginia.

He is a graduate of Wofford College and has a degree in Economics.
