Kelvyn Alp

Kelvyn Alp

Kelvyn Alp born 27 March 1971, is the leader of the Direct Democracy Party of New Zealand. He has five children, and served in the New Zealand Army from 1995 to 1996, reaching the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, leaving after training for SAS selection, note: Kelvyn Alp never obtained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, this is a Naval Rank, Mr Alp also never took part in SAS Selection so the comment that he was "training for" the SAS is misleading. Alp used a Maori Passport abroad in an attempt to highlight Maori issues. This practice ended after the New Zealand Labour-led Government threatened to pull allocated school funding in the Solomon Islands. Although called a "conspiracy theorist" by some, his support continues to grow [http://www.thebriefingroom.com/archives/wars_rumours_of_wars/intellligence/index.html TheBriefingRoom.com] ] as he rallies against legislation being passed by the current Government that his supporters claim suppresses freedom of speech and freedom of expression, and against the far reaching "anti-terrorist" legislation further they believe is designed to remove the rights and freedoms of ordinary people.

In 1996, Alp set up the New Zealand Armed Intervention Force, originally as a mercenary organization, later transformed into a para-military Maori separatist organisation.
