Ray Peacock (born Ian Boldsworth, 1973, in Warrington, England), is a prolific writer and comic performer who first came to prominence as part of the highly successful Big And Daft comedy trio, who enjoyed their own BBC London radio series, three consecutive years of sell-out Edinburgh Festival shows and their own series for the BBC's PlayUK, Terrorville.

In 2007 Ray began presenting his iTunes & Chortle hosted The Ray Peacock Podcast alongside Ed Gamble and Raji James, which is available to download on iTunes and at www.chortle.co.uk/raypeacock

Ray made his debut at the Edinburgh Festival in 2002, originally as a brash Yorkshireman character who soon became a regular and familiar act on the live circuit. In his 2006 show at the Edinburgh Festival; the character was dropped in all but name and Ray delivered a confessional stand-up show entitled "Out of Character".

The Ray Peacock Podcast

In 2007, he is the presenter of a successful and humorous free podcast The Ray Peacock Podcast on iTunes and the UK Comedy Website, chortle.co.uk, alongside the comedian Ed Gamble and Actor Raji James. Raji is the object of many jokes and running jokes throughout the series mostly about his personal life.

Personal life

His early schooling was at Burtonwood County Primary School, Warrington and, whilst there, his head teacher encouraged his performance tendencies and he regularly put on plays during Friday assemblies. He then attended Selwyn Jones High School in St Helens and turned his attention mainly to playing Rugby League, before rekindling his performance interests and successfully applying to Bretton Hall Drama School. After graduation he relocated to London and was briefly active in Fringe Theatre (Appearing in Lead Roles in Chekhov'sThe Bear and The Proposal) before turning his hand to comedy.

His intermittent "real" jobs included working in his grandfathers butchers shop in St Helens, working as a barman for Wetherspoons, a Newspaper sales rep and selling Strip Metal.

He is a fanatical supporter of St Helens RFC Rugby League, and an accomplished artist.
