Trace Gallagher (born June 14, 1961) is an American television news anchor for Fox News Channel.

Background

Known as Tracy Gallagher, he grew up in the ski resort of Mammoth Lakes, California, where he was the quarterback for the Mammoth Huskie football team before he graduated from high school in 1979. Gallagher has a degree from the University of San Diego.

Before his news career, Gallagher was a professional water ski performer at Marine World Africa USA in California and at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Although a gifted athlete, he often hurt himself while performing front flips. The injuries moved Gallagher to try his hand at announcing ski shows.

FOX News

Based in New York, Gallagher is co-anchor of The Live Desk, a general assignment correspondent and substitute anchor for Studio B and Fox Report. During his time at Fox, Gallagher has reported on the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and 2004 Southeast Asian tsunami.

He has also worked at FOX's Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles bureaus. Previously Gallagher worked at WCPX (now WKMG) in Orlando, Florida, KYEL (now KSWT) in Arizona, KVBC in Las Vegas, Nevada and KTVB in Idaho.
