Fevik

Fevik

Fevik is a small community in Grimstad, Norway. About 5000 people living there, most working in Arendal or central Grimstad. At the end of the 19th century the biggest shipyard in northern Europe for iron hulls were in the bay of Fevikkilen. Some boatbuilders are still in the area, modern cruisers and traditional wooden boats are made here. Fevik were a major summer recreational area from 1930 until about 1960. Large area at the north-west end of Fevik have very interesting natural features, geological, plants and insects, and are made a national nature reserve area.
