Greta Gynt

Greta Gynt (born as Margrethe Woxholt on 15 November 1916, Oslo, Norway, d. on 2 April 2000, London, England, UK) was a Norwegian singer, dancer and actress.

She played lead roles in minor British films from the 30s and 40s. The Rank Organisation was trying to market her as the British Jean Harlow.

She tried also an unsuccessful career in the US, and went back to England afterwards.

She can be seen on the "The Lady Vanishes" Criterion Collection DVD, where the 1941 film "Crook's Tour", where she has the lead female role, is offered as supplement.

Sister of the famed underwater photographer Gil Woxholt.
