The RoboMop (previously sold as RoboMaid in the USA) is an inexpensive (US$50 or less)
robotic floor duster introduced RoboMop International apparently in an attempt to capitalize on the success of theiRobot Roomba . The device consists of a hat-shaped frame with anelectrostatic dust pad on the bottom, driven by a self-propelled ball that fits into the middle of the frame. The product is powered by arechargeable battery that can be plugged into house current.The product is currently not available in the
United States . Reviews cited it as having expensive-to-replace pads. RoboMop is interested in starting up in theUnited States again and has reported that they will reduce the cost of refill significantly. RoboMop is currently available inEurope and Asian countries.The product is patented in multiple countries and RoboMop International owns the patent rights.
