The Norwich Twenty Group is a group of artists based in Norwich, England. The organization was formed in 1944 after a touring modern art exhibition came to Norwich Castle Museum. Spurred by the public outcry, twenty local young artists created the group to promote understanding of modern art in Norwich. Many well-known artists and sculptors from Norfolk are members of this select group which now has about 60 members. The membership has included Hamilton Wood Leslie Davenport, Michael Andrews, Mary Newcombe, Bernard Reynolds and Jeffrey Camp. The group holds monthly local meetings with critical reviews of their work and with occasional guest speakers. It also arranges two major exhibitions in Norwich each year. It has built up strong links with Norwich's twin cities in Europe and now holds joint exhibitions with Novi Sad in Serbia, Rouen in France and Koblenz in Germany. In 2008 the group's chairman is David Holgate and the exhibitions this year are in Norwich, Novi Sad, Rouen and Belgrade. The group has also developed a licentiatship scheme whereby a selection of final degree students from Norwich School of Art and Design are offered the opportunity to become members and exhibit with the group free of charge for one year.
