John Jackson (born 5 September, 1942 in Hammersmith, England), nicknamed "Stonewall", is a former football goalkeeper. He played for 5 clubs and was a successful player.

Career

John started his career with Crystal Palace, with whom he played for nine years, excluding many years in the youth setup. In 1973, he moved to Leyton Orient, where he stayed for six years. After that, a relatively short time at Millwall was followed by a trip to Ipswich, which ended in a year.

Jackson finished his career with Hereford United, after 19 years as a goalkeeper. John is well known by most British people.

He appeared on Football Focus on 8 January, 2008 to talk about the crisis at Newcastle, where Sam Allardyce was sacked.
