Mill, Netherlands

Mill is a village in the Dutch municipality Mill en Sint Hubert, in the province Noord-Brabant. Mill is known from the Battle of Mill, a two day fight during the German invasion of the Netherlands in 1940.

Mill had on January 1, 2006 6049 inhabitants and is the capital village of the municipality. The municipality house is located in Mill.

The name is not crearly derivable from history, although it is more or less clear that the village originates at least from 1166, under the name "Millen" or "Mylle".
