Oliver Edward O'Mara was born on March 8, 1891 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He died on October 24, 1989 in Reno, Nevada. He was a shortstop in Major League Baseball from 1912–1919, primarily with the Brooklyn Robins. He had one at-bat in the 1916 World Series against the Boston Red Sox.

At the time of his death, Ollie O'Mara was the oldest living professional baseball player.^{[citation needed]}

Ollie threw out the first pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers on opening day in 1980.

He batted right and threw right, was 5'9" tall and weighed 155 lbs.

He is buried in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
