The station is non-smoking, as are all of Southeastern's trains and stations. Despite CCTV coverage of the station, police initially struggled to identify the assailants [cite web|title=CCTV setback in rail attack hunt|publisher=BBC News Online|date=2008|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7549100.stm|accessdate=2008-08-08] , however after further analysis two suspect were arrested almost a week later [cite web|title=Two arrests over railway attack|publisher=BBC News Online|date=2008|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7558308.stm|accessdate=2008-08-13] .
