John Guppy

John Guppy was formerly the president and CEO of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, after his removal on April 11th 2008 [cite web | title=Fire dismisses Guppy as president | work=chicagosports.com |url=http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/soccer/fire/cs-080411-chicago-fire-gm-john-guppy,1,4716447.story] . He was also formerly the Executive VP of the Metrostars until 2005, when he was chosen by former Fire owners AEG to replace the popular Peter Wilt -- a move that resulted in substantial fan backlash and protest [cite web | title=Fire Fire Peter Wilt, Fans Protest | work=chicagoist.com |url=http://chicagoist.com/2005/04/19/fire_fire_peter_wilt_fans_protest_at_season_opener.php| accessmonthday=December 31 | accessyear=2007] . The Fire has since been sold to Andell Holdings.

John Guppy was born in Winchester, England and is a 1990 graduate of New Hampshire College and 1992 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He currently lives in Naperville, Illinois with his family.
