Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark covers 1250 square kilometres in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire in England. It is one of 30 partners in the European Geopark Network. Globally there are 50 geoparks - all endorsed by UNESCO. The creation of geoparks is driven by local organisations seeking to celebrate their geological heritage and achieve sustainable development through geotourism.

This quarry within the Geopark is owned and has been cleared up by the Gloucestershire Geology Trust.
Future Projects
Geopark Way
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust submitted an application to the Department of the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (defra) early last year to support the development of a "Geopark Way". This extensive trail will make use of public transport, cycle paths and footways and would enable local residents and visitors to explore all or parts of the Geopark with ease. The application was successful and the project is now underway.
The trail, which will make use of existing trails and trackways will follow the River Severn from Bridgnorth to Bewdley. It will weave its way south through hills and valleys to Ledbury and from there it will continue on to Gloucester. The trail will highlight the diverse geology found in the Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark.
Cotswold Hills Geopark
This is another local geopark which was set up in 2006 and in 2007 was due to join the European Geopark Network. See Cotswold Hills Geopark
