Yohanan Plesner ( _he. יוחנן פלסנר, born 17 January 1972) is an Israeli politician and a member of the Knesset for Kadima.

Biography

Born in England, Plesner served with the Sayeret Matkal during his national service in the IDF between 1989 and 1994. He went on to study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he gained a BA in economics. He moved on to the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he gained an MA in political economics and security studies.

Returning to Israel, he worked as head of special projects in the Prime Minister's office under Ariel Sharon, and as a personal aide to the president of the Israeli Institute for Democracy.

He joined the newly-formed Kadima party, and in the run-up to the 2006 elections he was placed 31st on Kadima's list. However, the party won only 29 seats. In May 2006 he bcame the party's director general, and, following the resignation of Uriel Reichman and Shimon Peres becoming president, Plesner entered the Knesset in October 2007 as a replacement for Shlomo Breznitz.
