It airs live for about three and one half hours each weekday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern or whenever the email segment gets done. The show is produced in Ottawa, Ontario, and can be heard on the CFGO radio station in Ottawa, as well as on the Internet from the Team 1200 official website. Fans of the show are commonly referred to as TGOR Nation.

On Friday, July 25, 2008 Tim Kilpatrick died. CFRA reported that Kilpatrick entered the hospital last week (July 16) [ [http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=ab468004-a0f3-4acb-a559-4da202cce27d Buzz Kilpatrick ] ] with shortness of breath, which doctors determined was caused by a lung infection. He died shortly after 10 a.m. Friday morning. Kilpatrick also hosted "The Buzz on Junior Hockey" for the radio station. [http://ottawasun.com/Sports/OtherSports/2008/07/25/6259226-sun.html]

Kilpatrick, raised in London, Ont., began working as a radio sports reporter in his hometown before moving to Calgary in the early 1990s to work in radio there. He first worked at KICK-FM, again in sports before moving to the station's morning show. He eventually joined another Calgary radio station, KISS-FM, where he also worked on the morning show.Kilpatrick returned to London in the late 1990s to work at radio station CFPL.He came to Ottawa when he was hired by the TEAM 1200. He was a co-host on the afternoon drive-home program with Don "The Dandyman" Romani, before moving to the Three Guys on the Radio morning show.Kilpatrick, who on the afternoon show played the straight shooter with the unpredictable Romani, established himself as the fall guy on Three Guys on the Radio. The shows co-hosts, Steve Warne and "Stuntman Stu" Schwartz, would often tease Kilpatrick about his taste in music, women and his favourite hockey team - the Toronto Maple Leafs.Kilpatrick also hosted The Buzz on Junior Hockey.

History of the show

"Three Guys on the Radio" began as the morning drive show on the Team 1200 after the acquisition by CHUM Limited and rebranding of "Ottawa Sports Radio 1200" to "Sports Radio 1200 The Team".

The original cast of TGOR was Geoff Franklin, "Jungle" Jim Jerome, and John "J.R." Rodenburg hosting, and shortly after, Steve Warne moved in to replace Rodenburg, who moved to the show "Sportscall." A short time later, Franklin was let go, and Rodenburg returned to the show.

Warne, self-proclaimed Mayor of Barrhaven, continues to be an anchor on the show. He's the local Valley boy who actually plays most the of the games he talks about. He is happily married to his wife Linda Warne, who works for Rogers Communications at Y101 in Ottawa.

Rodenburg was the original host with Jim Jerome on the afternoon drive show on Ottawa Sports Radio in 1999. He now hosts the morning show on 93.9 BOB-FM and is back on the Team 1200 afternoon drive home show called "More-On Sports" with co-host and former NHLer Garry Galley.

"Jungle" Jim Jerome returned to Edmonton, to take over radio station K-Rock CIRK-FM, after doing TGOR out of his basement from December 13, 2005 to August 2006. Jerome's mother Barry Jerome, widow of former House of Commons Speaker James Jerome, still appears on Fridays to give her NFL picks of the week. Jerome's claim to fame is being a close friend of hockey icon Wayne Gretzky.

With Jerome moving on, the show moved from a broad focus, laced with sexual innuendo comedy, to more sports-talk-centric content. The show still contains reasonably immature sex themes, but less often and less over-the-top.
