updated= January 15, 2008Right Boy, a horse who cost only 575 Guineas as a
yearling , was the second top sprinter of the 1950s to be trained inYorkshire by Bill Dutton - the first wasPappa Fourway , who cost even less, and when Dutton died in 1958, the horse was taken over by his late trainer's son-in-lawPat Rohan . Perhaps rather surprisingly, his early career was of no particular significance, but he certainly made his mark later on with 16 wins including theNunthorpe Stakes (twice), and theJuly Cup ,King George Stakes and Cork & Orrery Stakes, as well as theKing's Stand Stakes . At stud he fell a long way below expectations and the only decent winners he produced by the time he was put down in 1977 wereReet Lass , who won theMolecomb Stakes at Goodwood, andVillage Boy , who landed theRichmond Stakes at the same course.References
