John Spillane (Born 1961) is a singer/songwriter from Cork, Ireland. He graduated from University College Cork with a degree in Irish and in English.

As a solo musician, Spillane has released four albums to date, "The Wells of the World" (1997), "Will We Be Brilliant Or What" (2002), "Hey Dreamer" (2005) and "My Dark Rosaleen & The Island Of Dreams" (2008). Prior to his solo career, he sang and played guitar with the Irish traditional band Nomos. With Nomos, he released two albums, "I Won't Be Afraid Anymore" (1996) and "Set You Free" (1997).

Though John Spillane's newest album "My Dark Rosaleen & The Island of Dreams" is in English, his previous album was The Gaelic Hit Factory (2006) which contains songs in Irish with English lyrics on some tracks. Leading Irish language poet Louis de Paor (or "Louis de (the) poet" as Spillane has referred to him), reads his poems on the album and also has the writing credits for the album.

As a songwriter, Spillane's own songs have been recorded by Karan Casey, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon and others.

Spillane won a Meteor Music Award in the Best Folk/Traditional Act category in 2003 and again in 2006.

Recently, Spillane has hosted a weekly RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta programme named "Rogha" on Sunday nights.
