Ralph R. Caputo (born October 31, 1940) is an American Democratic Party politician, who has served in the New Jersey General Assembly since January 8, 2008, where he represents the 28th legislative district. He had previously served in the Assembly from 1968-1972.

He has served on the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders since 2003. Caputo represents Freeholder District 5 and serves as Freeholder Vice President. Caputo served as the Acting and Assistant Superintendent for the Essex County Schools, as the Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Orange Board of Education, and as the Assistant Superintendent of the Essex County Vocational Technical Schools. Caputo received a B.A. from Bloomfield College with a major in History and Education, and was awarded a M.A. from Seton Hall University in Educational Administration. Caputo is a resident of Belleville, New Jersey.

District 28

Each of the forty districts in the New Jersey Legislature has one representative in the New Jersey Senate and two members in the New Jersey General Assembly. The other representatives from the 28th District for the 2008-2009 Legislative Session are:
