Marc Lorber, MarVista’s senior VP of production, and Sue Reiner, the company’s head of television, served as co-executive producers alongside Island Film Group’s Ricardo S. Galindez and Roy J. Tjioe. Premise

Song has stated,

"It also stars Lisa Edelstein from House and Robert Grant, who’s on Queer as Folk. It’s a great film - she’s a courier, a special courier, and she has a job with a businessman in China, (and) he has something that he wants her to deliver, and it’s me, “Song explains.” She has to deliver me to my mom in Hawaii. There’s a whole lot of twists and turns. I can’t say too much about it, but let’s say that my dad, he hasn’t been completely honest, and there’s some people after us.

The entire film was shot at at least 16 locations on Oahu, including Kahala, Waikiki, Chinatown, North Shore, Turtle Bay Resort. Honolulu Airport, a nightclub, hospital, and several street scenes. Plot

Special Delivery is about Maxine Carter (Edelstein), who works as a bonded courier, her next assignment is to deliver Alice (Song), a bratty teenager who's making her way from China to the United States to be with her mother. Upon reaching the U.S., Maxine realizes that a trap has been set up for the two of them, and becomes responsible for Alice's safety. The film is set to air on Sky Movies in the UK and the Lifetime Movie Network in the United States. The UK premiere averaged over 4 million, the highest ever for a movie on Sky Movies.

Marketing support

Lifetime Movie Network will support the release with a million dollar plus marketing and media campaign targeting the key preteen and teen demographics, encompassing network and cable television advertising, integrated online and viral promotions and select brand partnerships. Song's demographics score an average 7 million without "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", which receives over 5 million weekly. The movie may have theatrical releases in Asia due to Song's popularity from the "" franchise

Brenda Song has sang several songs for the movie including "Life Goes By", "You Wish!" and "Love Just Is". It has been confirmed the soundtrack is set to be released in January 2009.
