Landstown High School and Technology Academy is a public secondary school located in Virginia Beach, Virginia which first opened in 2001. The school's most remarkable feature is the Technology Academy, one of several magnet programs in Virginia Beach. Students throughout the city interested in a technology education can apply to learn from three different strands: pre-engineering technology, information technology, and entrepreneurship technology. Entry to the Academy requires recommendations, above average grades, and electronic portfolio which demonstrates aptitude.

Landstown is also home to the award winning "Eagle Elite" Madrigal (Chamber) Choir. Under the direction of Dr. Martha Springstead, the choral department has quickly become one of the best in both the region and state. They have performed in NYC (2005) with the Heritage Festivals of Gold at Riverside Church, and are members of the Disney Honors, Class of 2006, held at Disney World. Consistently awarded superior ratings at competitive national choral festivals, they have also won superior ratings at every annual VMEA District 2 Choral Festival.Fact|date=May 2008

Academic honors

Landstown was home to the city's only FIRST robotics team, team #769 (2001-2005).

Athletic honors

Landstown's football team went to three state championship games in a row from 2003-2005 under Coach Chris Beatty, who led the team to a 40-2 record during that three year span. They won the state championship in 2004 but lost it in 2003 and 2005. The star players during this time were Percy Harvin and Damon McDaniel. In early 2006, Coach Beatty left Landstown to become the offensive coordinator at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.

Harvin set five state track records while he was at Landstown High, winning five gold medals at the state finals in 2005: long jump, triple jump, 100 meters, 200 meters and 400-meter relay. The boys' outdoor track team won the state championship in 2005.

The boys' soccer team won the regional championship in 2006.

The girls' track team won the state championship in 2006.

The girls' indoor track team 4x200 meter relay team competed in Nike Indoor Nationals in 2008 and won the national title, as well as ran a US #1 time of 1:40.08. The relay members were Kelnesha Hinnant, Olivia Hutchins, Cierra McGee and Marlena Wesh, respectively. Wesh also took the national title in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.46. All of the ladies earned All-American honors.

The girls' outdoor track team competed in the annual Penn Relays Carnival in 2008. The 4x100 meter relay team of Olivia Hutchins, Leah Brown, Cierra McGee, and Marlena Wesh advanced to the Championship of America placing 4th with a time of 46.07. The ladies received gold watches for having the fastest American time.

The girls' indoor track team won the state championship in 2008

The girls' outdoor track team won the state championship in 2008. The ladies were the first team ever in the history of Virginia track and field to win all three relay titles: the 4x800 meter relay, the 4x100 meter relay, & the 4x400 meter relay. They also tied the record for the most points ever scored at the VHSL AAA state track and field meet with a score of 94 points. The second place team had a score of 38 points. The lady eagles had 11 ladies obtain All-State honors: Stephanie Frenchik, Samira Johnson, Amira Chowyuk, Kelnesha Hinnant, Cierra Mcgee, Olivia Hutchins, Leah Brown, Taylor Wheaton, Marlena Wesh, Diane Wesh, and Jessica Williams.

Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

The current Senior Naval Science Instructor is retired Navy Lieutenant David Hamilton and the Naval Science Instructor is retired Petty Officer First Class Sharon Reyes. The cadet Commanding Officer is Francis Pecadeso and the Executive Officer is Jennifer Roberts. The unit is ranked 10th in the 2007 Area 5 Competition which consist of the schools in Virginia, Maryland, Italy, Spain, and Germany. As of 2008 the Landstown drill team was 3rd in all of area 5 and got 4th place in the Area 5 competition.
