Asrul Sani

Asrul Sani was born in Rao, Pasaman, West Sumatera on June 10 1926 and was died on January 11 2004. He was prominent Indonesian film producer and reporter. In 1946, he founded "Gelanggang Seniman" with Chairil Anwar and Rivai Apin. He was editor of Pujangga Baru, Gema, Gelanggang (all of magazines) and also head of Citra Film. Asrul was a productive writer and film producer and produced many of works, such as "Tiga Menguak Takdir" (compilation of poems with Chairil Anwar and Rivai Apin), "Dari Suatu Masa dari Suatu Tempat" (compilation of short stories), and "Naga Bonar" (film).
