Background

Pianeta's parents are from Corigliano and when he was six years of age the family emigrated to Germany and his father went to work in a butcher store.

Before he turned to professional boxing Pianeta practiced muay thai and had a record of 9 wins and one loss.

Professional career

From his very professional Pianeta showed that he was prepared to travel internationally to fight opponents. His first fight as a professional boxer was in July 2005, in Hessen, Germany, when he beat Slovakian journeyman Sylvester Petrovic with a second round knockout.

Pianeta has won all of his first 14 fights, with 8 wins by KO. He trained by Manfred Wolke is promoted by Sauerland Event’s and based in Germany although he has also fought in Italy, Ireland, Austria, Poland and Belgium.
