Kaiser class armored frigate

Kaiser class armored frigate

The "Kaiser" class of armored frigates was a class of two ships commissioned into the German Imperial Navy, both in 1875. The ships, "Kaiser" and "Deutschland", served in colonial duties until the turn of the 20th century. In 1904, both ships were converted into harbor ships, with "Deutschland" being used as a target ship in 1906. "Deutschland" was scrapped in 1908, but "Kaiser" was retained until she was scrapped in 1920.
