Luca Castiglia (born 17 March, 1989 in Ceva) is an Italian football midfielder who plays at Juventus. Having spent some of his formative years there in the Campionato Primavera (under-20 league format between all Serie A and Serie B teams), Claudio Ranieri decided to call him up to the senior side for the 2007-2008 season. He joined the Juventus youth set-up at the beginning of the 2005-2006 season from Torino and the Juventus under-20's won the youth title that year. Luca plays a central role in the midfield and looks to distribute forward as he is a good passer of the ball. Some have even compared him to Andrea Pirlo in the way that he controls the midfield. His first senior game came as a substitute on January 27th, 2008 when Juventus played Livorno in Serie A and won 3-1. He is considered one of the more promising stars from the Juventus youth system along with the likes of Sebastian Giovinco and Paolo De Ceglie.
