Timothy Johnson (TV medical presenter)

Timothy Johnson (born ) is an American television personality, author and physician who, as "Dr. Tim Johnson", is best known to TV viewers in his capacity as the longtime chief medical correspondent for ABC News.

G. Timothy Johnson received his undergraduate degree from Augustana College, earning Phi Beta Kappa honors. He graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in 1963 and is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church. After two years in the ministry, he entered medical school [cite interview

] , graduating summa cum laude from Albany Medical College of Union University and subsequently receiving his Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University and has been, for many years, on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and on the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital.

Upon joining ABC News in 1975, he was assigned as the medical reporter, later "Medical Editor" of ABC's morning show, Good Morning America (GMA), upon its premiere on November 31975. In addition to his work on GMA, he has presented, in over three decades at the network, stories for World News Tonight, Nightline, 20/20 and many other programs.
