The IRB Junior World Championship is an international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB), and is contested by 16 men's junior national teams, with an under-20 age requirement. The inaugural tournament was held in June 2008, hosted by Wales. This event replaced the IRB's former age-grade world championships, the Under 19 and Under 21 World Championships.

The Junior World Championship is the upper level of a new IRB tournament structure for U-20 national sides. At the same time that the Junior World Championship was launched, the IRB also launched a second-level championship, the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy, featuring eight teams. In August 2007, Chile was announced as the host of the inaugural Junior World Trophy to be held in Santiago in April 2008.
