Order of precedence in Yukon

The Yukon order of precedence is a nominal and symbolic hierarchy of important positions within the territory of Yukon. It has no legal standing but is used to dictate ceremonial protocol at events of a territorial nature.

  2. The Commissioner of Yukon (Doug Phillips)
  3. The President of the Executive Council of Yukon (Darrell Pasloski)
  4. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Yukon (Ted Staffen)
  5. The Justice of the Supreme Court
  6. Members of the Executive Council of the Yukon
  7. The Leader of the Official Opposition
  8. Members of the Yukon Legislative Assembly with precedence governed by the date of their first election to the Legislature
  9. Federal Member of Parliament for the Yukon
  10. Member of the Senate from the Yukon
  11. Yukon First Nation Chiefs and Council of Yukon First Nations
  12. Bishops of Roman Catholic and Anglican faiths with precedence determined by order of appointment
  13. R.C.M.P. Divisional Commander
  14. Armed Forces Commander
  15. Territorial Court Judges
  16. Mayor of Whitehorse
  17. Yukon Government Deputy Ministers and senior Yukon Government officials with the status of Deputy Ministers, with precedence according to the respective dates of their appointments to the position
