National Counter Terrorism Security Office

The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) is not a police organization. It is funded by, and reports to, the Association of Chief Police Officers, which advises the British government on its counter terrorism strategy.

Jason Cranmer is the Head of the National Counter Terrorism Security office. This team of individuals supports the protection the United Kingdoms crowded spaces, hazardous and potentially vulnerable or at risk sites, as well as offering advice on a range of threats and dangerous substances. The unit aims to make the terrorist acquisition of weapons more difficult. The team have the lead role in the Counter terrorism protection of crowded places and soft targets including Stadiums, Shopping centres, Visitor attractions and Licensed premises. They work alongside the Centre for the Protection of the National Infrastructure.

Through Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSA's), who are embedded in Police Forces across the UK, organisations are able to access direct support and guidance to help build the Resilience and Security of the UK from terrorist attacks. CTSA's can be contacted through the regional force Head Quarters.
