Austrian legislative election, 1953
- Austrian legislative election, 1953
The elections to the Austrian National Council of 1953 were the first elections after the KPÖ had left the coalition with the ÖVP and SPÖ in 1950. The SPÖ leaped ahead of the ÖVP in votes, but the coalition between the two parties was continued under the Chancellorship of ÖVP politician Julius Raab, while Adolf Schärf of the SPÖ remained Vice Chancellor.
