carnivorous plant that belongs to thegenus "Utricularia " and is the only member of "Utricularia" sect. "Chelidon". "U. mannii" is endemic to tropicalAfrica , particularly the islands in theGulf of Guinea (Bioko ,São Tomé , andPríncipe ) and the adjacent mainland (Cameroon andNigeria ). It grows as an epiphytic plant on mossy tree trunks in rain forests at altitudes from convert|500|m|ft|0|lk=on|abbr=on to convert|2100|m|ft|0|abbr=on. It has been collected in flower between April and November.
