Archduke "Robert" Karl Ludwig Maximilian Michael Maria Anton Franz Ferdinand Joseph Otto Hubert Georg Pius Johannes Marcus d'Aviano of Austria-Este (Schonbrunn, February 8, 1915 - Basel, February 7, 1996), Prince Imperial of Austria, Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia was born as the second son of Karl I of Austria and Princess Zita. On April 16, 1917 he was created Archduke of Austria-Este by his father, Emperor Karl I of Austria.

He married Princess Margherita Isabella Maria Vittoria Emanuella Elena Gennara of Savoy-Aosta (b. 7 April 1930, elder daughter of the late Amadeo, 3rd Duke of Aosta on December 28, 1953 in Bourg-en-Bresse, France (civilly) and December 29, 1953 (religious), in Brou, France.
The couple had five children, all with the territorial designation of Austria-Este:
* Archduchess Maria Beatrice (December 11, 1954). Married Count Riprand of Arco-Zinneberg, a great-grandson of the last Bavarian king, Ludwig III, and has issue. They have six daughters:
** Countess Anna Theresa von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (1981- );
** Countess Margherita von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (1983- );
** Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (1988- );
** Countess Maximiliana von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (1990- );

* Archduke Lorenz (December 16, 1955), Created Prince of Belgium on November 10 1995. Married September 22, 1984 at Brussels, Princess Astrid of Belgium (b. 1962) only daughter of King Albert II of the Belgians. They have three daughters and two sons:
** Prince Amedeo of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este (1986- );
** Princess Maria Laura of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este (1988- );
