Golders Green Estate

Golders Green Estate

The Golders Green Estate is an area in the district of London Borough of Barnet between Cricklewood and Brent Cross, adjacent to Clitterhouse. It is in the London NW2 postcode area and is bounded (and includes) by Cotswold Gardens and Cheviot Gardens.

While deriving its name Golders Green from the suburb of the same name, it is not adjacent to Golders Green. It was built by the Laing company after the Handley Page Aerodrome and factory closed in 1929. The aerodrome had become unviable as it became surrounded by suburban development.

The area was the childhood home of Jean Simmons, the actress.
