Ramblewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,054 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Ramblewood is located at coord|40|44|3|N|77|56|40|W|region:US_type:city|display=inline (40.734180, -77.944554)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.6 square miles (17.2 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 1,054 people, 376 households, and 312 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 158.8 people per square mile (61.3/km²). There were 385 housing units at an average density of 58.0/sq mi (22.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.25% White, 0.47% African American, 0.85% Asian, 0.28% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.

There were 376 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.1% were married couples living together, 4.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.8% were non-families. 13.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 31.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.9 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $60,268, and the median income for a family was $65,119. Males had a median income of $41,036 versus $37,500 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $21,551. About 4.5% of families and 5.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.5% of those under age 18 and 16.3% of those age 65 or over.
