Gull Bay First Nation or Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek ("Gayaashki-zaagiing Anishinaabeg") is an
Ojibwa yFirst Nation located in Thunder Bay District in northwesternOntario ,Canada . It is approximately 175 km north ofThunder Bay, Ontario on Hwy 527 on the south shore ofLake Nipigon . As of January 2008, the First Nation had a registered population of 1055 people, of which their on-Reserve population was 300.Governance
The First Nation elect their officials through the Act Electoral System, consisting of a Chief and ten councillors. The current Chief is Wilfred King, whose two-year term began on December 14, 2006. The councillors are Owen Barry, Eugene Esquaga, Brian King, Gwendoline King, Hugh King, Rita King, Wayne King, Isidore Poile, Orland Poile and Lawrence Shonias.

Robinson-Superior Treaty , Gull Bay First Nation is a member of theNokiiwin Tribal Council , a Regional Chiefs Council, andUnion of Ontario Indians , a Tribal Political Organization that represents many of theAnishinaabe First Nation governments in Ontario located aboutLake Superior andLake Huron .Reserve
