Tyoka Jackson (born November 22, 1971, in Washington, D.C.) is a professional American football player in the NFL. On March 2, 2007 he was released from the Lions. He last played defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions (2006) and played 5 seasons for St. Louis Rams (2001-2005), the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-2000, and the Miami Dolphins from 1994-1995.

High school years

Jackson attended Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland and was a student and a starting defensive lineman on the football team. As a senior football player, he garnered 12 sacks and more than 100 tackles, and earned All-Metro honors from the Washington Post.

College career

Jackson attended Pennsylvania State University and was a student and a college football star. As a sophomore, he posted a team-leading 9.5 sacks, and 25 tackles. As a junior, he won second team All-East honors and garnered three sacks and 25 tackles. As a senior, he was a "Football News" All-American Honorable Mention pick, and named first team All-Big Ten. He posted a team-leading eight sacks, in addition to 41 tackles.

In 1994, Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Labor and Industrial Relations from Penn State University.

Legal issues

On March 27, 2008, Jackson was ordered by a federal jury to pay a flight attendant $3,000 for pushing him on a plane in a 2005 incident.
