University of Pennsylvania Health System

The University of Pennsylvania Health System is a diverse research and clinical care organization in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1993, it currently operates under the direction and auspices of Penn Medicine, a division of the University of Pennsylvania. Three hospitals, two regional medical centers, and a multitude of clinical care providers in the greater Philadelphia area constitute the Penn Health System. The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, also under the auspices of Penn Medicine, works closely with the hospitals and practices.

Hospitals

A fourth hospital, [http://phoenixvillehospital.com Phoenixville Hospital] in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, was recently divested.

Graduate Hospital, located in Southwest Center City, Philadelphia was recently re-acquired and is being converted to a comprehensive rehabilitation center. The site will be the home of "Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital -- Philadelphia" (a 38-bed long-term acute care hospital) and the "Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine" (a 58-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility).
