Pallottines

Pallottines

The Pallottines are a religious congregation within the Roman Catholic Church, founded in 1835 as "SAC", "societas apostolatus catholici", by the Roman priest Vincent Pallotti. Pallottines are part of the Union of Catholic Apostolate. The Pallottines administer one of the largest churches in the world, Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro in Côte d'Ivoire.

Missions

One example of their work was the Pallottine mission to Kamerun, established in 1890 in the German colony of Kamerun.

St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland is run by the Pallottines although only a single nun is employed there.

Another example of a school run by the Pallottines is Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

The St. Paulusheim Gymnasium in Bruchsal, Germany is also led by Pallotines though the number of teaching paters is decreasing.

Irish Province

The Irish Province was founded in 1907 in Thurles, County Tipperary.
