Jonestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 34 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bloomsburg–Berwick Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Jonestown is located at coor dms|41|7|36|N|76|18|9|W|city (41.126639, -76.302364)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 34 people, 15 households, and 10 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 109.3 people per square mile (42.3/km²). There were 47 housing units at an average density of 151.1/sq mi (58.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 100.00% White.

There were 15 households out of which 20.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% were married couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.80.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 14.7% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 14.7% from 45 to 64, and 32.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 78.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 70.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $46,875, and the median income for a family was $46,875. Males had a median income of $33,750 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $18,193. There were no families and 7.4% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 28.6% of those over 64.
