Dryopida

Dryopida

Dryopida (Greek Δρυοπίδα) is a village in Kythnos. It most likely got its name from the first residents of the island, the Dryopes. A few years ago it was nominated as a traditional settlement because of its architecture.

Population

The village now has about 800 residents (2001 census) but its population is shrinking year by year.

Museum

Dryopida is home to the Folklore Museum of Kythnos which has traditional uniforms and objects of everyday use.
